Powerpoint of FLICC denial techniques

Here is a new resource for educators, scientists, and climate communicators: a Powerpoint of FLICC denial techniques. It includes definitions of the various rhetorical techniques and logical fallacies in the FLICC taxonomy, as well as a number of cartoon examples.

Example of fake experts: the F in FLICC.

Over the years, I’ve produced a number of resources on FLICC. There’s the History of FLICC blog post which provides a comprehensive (and constantly updated) list of definitions and examples. There’s the 41-minute video 23 Ways to Mislead (which took soooo long to put together). Note this video has been translated into Spanish – see the closed captions for subtitles.

The 23 Ways to Mislead was an updated version of the earlier trilogy of videos I produced with the UQx team for the Massive Open Online Course Denial101x.
